The Old Courthouse building is also host to the Future Kids Day Care and Nursery. Future Kids is a registered day nursery with the Southern Health and Social Services Board. It is conveniently located at the North entrance of Markethill, just off the A28 main Newry to Armagh Road. The facilities opening hours are 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. It provides full day care for children from the age of six weeks to five years and also offers part time care.

Aims of the Nursery
(i) To provide the highest possible standard of educational and play provision, which encourages the Physical, Emotional and Social development of each child.
(ii) To provide a secure environment that removes the worry all parents feel when leaving their children during the day.

Staffing for the centre meets the strict guidelines set by the Health Board. All staff employed by the centre will be on a continuing development programme aimed at enhancing Quality and Qualifications. Staff to children ratios are:

0 - 2 years 1 : 3
2 - 3 years 1 : 4
3 - 4 years 1 : 8

After school care :
5 - 12 years 1 : 8

Each department has a varied programme of activities that will enhance the child's development. Parents are welcome to view and participate with the nursery staff in any of the organised events.
Each day the parents can receive a short report on how the child has eaten, slept and generally participated in the day's programme.
